Review: The 'SO' Chord 

 The "SO" Chord recording was my first experience with Hemi-Sync, a patented, scientifically and clinically proven "audio guidance" technology with more than 40 years of research behind it.

Complex, multi-layered audio signals act together to create a resonance that is reflected in unique brainwave forms characteristic of specific states of consciousness. This results in a focused, whole-brain state known as hemispheric synchronization -- hence the term "Hemi-Sync." In this state, the left and right hemispheres are working together in coherence. Hemi-Sync is said to produce a focused, coherent mind, an optimal condition for improving human performance.

In this recording, Hemi-Sync technology is added to the "SO" Chord, Barry Oser's interpretation of "the formative sound of Creation emerging from the 'Void.' "

Oser, a gifted composer and concert pianist, inventor and sound researcher, began hearing this sound of creation, most clearly and strongly in nature. After contemplating this harmonic vibration in the elemental world for many years, he was finally compelled to reproduce this sound in his studio. The result was his interpretation of the "SO" Chord.

 Within seconds of pushing "play," I felt relaxed.

There's something about this particular chord (multiple harmonious notes played together) that made me feel at peace. Yes, the CD is basically one chord, based on the interval of the fifth, spread out over time -- 45 minutes. There is some fluctuation in the vibrational harmonics, but not much. About half-way through the recording, the instrumentation slowly changes -- more strings and perhaps a wider range of harmonic notes -- to crescendo into a beautiful, peaceful awakening of sorts ... at least that's how I feel when I listen to it -- like I'm awakening. :-)

In many cultures, the fifth is considered a musical interval that reflects the organic, natural world.

Some people hear various sounds while listening to the "SO" Chord; some hear music that is not part of the recording.

I found some interesting information about the SO Chord at Create Your Life Now, which I'll share here. It seems that in some ancient scriptures, there is a common thread of sound being mentioned in regard to "The Beginning" of Creation. These scriptures point to sound and vibration not only being the source and force of material creation, but also that "sound, in the most sacred sense, is a direct and vibratory reflection of the mind of the Creator."

I love the "SO" Chord CD. I could listen to it every day.

My short review of The "SO" Chord here doesn't do it justice, as there is really so little to say about it, but its peacefulness and richness filled me with my own rich peace. It is simply wonderful for meditation, and its length suits me perfectly.

There is just enough for the brain to hang on to without being distracted, just enough to give your attention to, to keep your mind pleasantly floating on the richness and fullness of the sound.

I definitely recommend this recording for its wonderful meditative properties. It's definitely worth your monetary exchange and your time. Beautiful, and highly recommended.
